Folios 244-245: Edward Thornborough, HMS Robust off St Helens. Encloses a report on the state of vessels at the anchorage. The letter referred to from Captain Bowen is missing. He reports that the gun boat HMS Teaser has a bad fever on board and is ordered to Spithead in order to send the crew to hospital.
Foliois 246-247: enclosed with folios 244-245. Signed by Captain Thornborough and by J Bowen, a list of the gun vessels that are short of their complement of crew: HMS Defender under Lieutenant Samuel Price Leavey, HMS Hardy under Lieutenant James Owen Lucas, HMS Staunch under Lieutenant Constantine Henville, HMS Spiteful under Lieutenant John Harford, HMS Pelter under Lieutenant John Walsh and HMS Tigress under Lieutenant John Wyatt Atkins.
