Folios 159-160: Sandford Tatham, North Shields.
Writes concerning an error in the petition from the Mary and the Eleanor enclosed with a letter dated 21 December. He clarifies that the crew members are paid by the owners of the vessels but the Midshipmen and the Impress Gang on the vessels are on the Book as supernumeraries and receive their pay at the dockyard in Sheerness. This is dangerous work and he recommends them for an increase in pay.
