Description

Folios 135-136: Sandford Tatham, North Shields. Encloses a statement from Elizabeth, wife of Christopher Needham.

Folios 137-138: enclosed with folios 135-136. A petition dated 25 October 1798 witnessed by William Paley and G Robinson from Elisabeth Needham stating that her husband, Mate of the Mary of Sunderland, was impressed but was then paid by Mr Kelley as crew on the tender Mary. Later he was put onto HMS Racehorse which sailed to the Baltic and back before he went ashore and did not return. A detailed account follows.
