Description

Folios 538-539: George Trip, HMS Samson in Harmoaze. He is under orders from John Thomas Duckworth Commander in Chief of Jamaica station to be in readiness to sail with a convoy to England. Captain Thomas Drury HMS Alfred has ordered the master of HMS Sampson to join that ship. He has heard from Surgeon Forbes of Naval Hospital at Port Royal that John Davies, master of HMS Hermione that he will be well soon so he is requesting that his appointment as acting master of HMS Sampson be confirmed and his pay due be sorted.
