Folios 221-222: Thomas Totty, HMS Dictator, Spithead. Being under orders for foreign service and being informed by the Surgeon that the following articles are necessities to preserve the Health of the Seaman and which he understands are usually allowed for ships upon Foreign Stations. Request the Commissioners be directed to supply a proportion of the following:- Rice, Sugar, Lime Juice, Essence of Malt, Essence of Spice, Mustard, Cocoa, Opium and Jesuit's Bark [Cinchona Bark]. For the prevention and care of the Scurvy independent of the necessaries usually supplied to the Surgeon.
