Captured ship: Almond otherwise Alman of Shavallett [Chaillevette near Tremblade] (master Jacques Chevalier of Chaillevette, joint owner with Jaccques Deridoe of Chaillevette; prize master Andreijs van den Bergh of Flushing [Vlissingen]).
Capture history: a French merchant ship (pinnace, 100 tons), bound from the Banks of Newfoundland to France, laden with fish and train oil; taken on 8/18 November 1673 about 30-40 leagues off Scilly by the Dutch privateer Brandwijk or Brandwicke of Flushing (Joris Prijs commanding), retaken on 12/22 November 1673 about 20 leagues off Scilly by HMS Dover (Christopher Mason commanding) and brought into Plymouth. (Brandwijk and her prize Almond parted company on 9/19 November 1673 in the latitude of Ile de Sein, Brittany.)
