Folios 403-404: Thomas Twysden, HMS Pylades, Leith Roads. Advising that Mr Farney, purser of the ship, who had been reported absent without leave in his letter of 19 September, has this day returned. The excuse given is urgent private business which if left unattended would have caused Farney a very serious loss. Twysden asks for their Lordships' consideration therefore. Admiralty response on rear says he may overlook it if he chooses on this occasion but with a warning it must not happen again.
Folios 405-406: enclosure with folios 403-404. Letter dated 23 September 1794 from George Farney, HMS Pylades, Leith Roads. Referring to the letter from Twysden and hoping for their good offices - which he is sure will give pleasure to William, Alderman Anderson, to whom he will have the pleasure of communicating the news.
