Railway 200 was a year-long nationwide partnership-led campaign celebrating 200 years of the modern railway. Modern railwy started with the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway on 27 September 1825. A variety of activities and events took place throughout 2025.
The campaign was originally led and managed by the Great British Railways Transition Team until it was dissolved on 1 April 2025. Most of its functions were subsequently transferred to Network Rail.
