Description

Folios 36-72. Letter from the Earl of Buckingham to the Lord Viscount Weymouth indicating that, further to his examination of the proposed plan to put the army in Ireland on as nearly as possible the same footing as that in Great Britain, he cannot see an essential objection to it nor any great difficulty in carrying it out. He encloses various papers necessary to give effect to the proposals, together with commentary on the same. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosed: Folios 40-48: Draft of a Warrant for regulating the stock purse funds of the several regiments of horse and dragoons of Ireland. Folios 49-59: Draft of a Warrant for regulating the non-effective funds of the several regiments of infantry in Ireland. Folios 60-63: Draft of a Warrant for regulating demands for contingent regimental expenses of the army in Ireland. Folios 64-67: Draft of a Warrant for establishing pay masters in the several regiments of horse, dragoons and foot in Ireland. Folios 68-69: Draft of a Warrant for an allowance to the several regiments of horse, dragoon and foot in Ireland upon account of their sick men and sick recruits. Folios 70-72: Draft of a Proclamation for the encouragement of persons to apprehend deserters.
