Folios 222-223: James Pattison Stewart, HMS Amphion, Portsmouth Harbour.
Has been informed by Admiral Sir Richard Bickerton that the expense incurred in altering the Carronades Carriages has been queried. Explains that he ordered these alterations as an experiment conducted in conjunction with the Royal Artillery to discover the best method to use. Justifies the expense.
