Folios 104-105: William Richard[?] Smith, Agent and Commander, Bostock hired transport no. 404, fitted as a hospital ship, Halifax. Letter enclosing his letter of appointment from Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren, asking that their Lordships will confirm it. Says he has also sent a copy to the Board of Transport.
Folio 106: enclosure with folios 104-105. Orders from the Rt Hon Sir John Borlase Warren, C-in-C of the American and West Indian station, aboard the San Domingo at Bermuda. Directs Smith to take command of the Bostock Hospital Ship and to take particular care that the ship is kept clean and dry, as healthy and well-ventilated as possible, and to attend to the surgeon's wishes for any regulation concerning the care of the sick, to repress any noise and disorder aboard.
