Folios 91-92: James Keith Shepard, No. 1, Surry St, Strand. Responding to admiralty letter of previous day, advising that Mr George Judmore, whom he employed to obtain speedier settlement of the wages due to seamen he had raised at Gravesend, is a clerk at the Bank of England, and son of Mr Richard Judman, who was clerk of the Rendezvous. Judmore received just 6d in the pound for money he obtained, which Shepard says would not have been the case with the 'slop merchants' had the business continued to pass through their hands. Also Judmore is resident in London so can make personal applications without delay. Says the wages were never received by him after they left El Corso and if he thought they stood a good chance of receiving them quickly he detained the men in that hope, but if it seemed unlikely he submitted their claims and left the matter with their lordships without detaining them.
Folio 93: enclosure with folios 91-92. Record Office form giving the name of Captain Shepard, and date 19 September 1813.
