Folios 395-396: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. Regarding the 2 enclosed letters.
Folios 397-398: enclosure with folios 395-396. [Lee and Lock?] Ilfracombe, 13 Aug 1813, to [Messrs?] G C Fox and Co Falmouth. Description of the American Privateer [Agis?] and news of the capture of several vessels west of the Lundy Island, including a ship from the West Indies, a Schooner and a Bristol pilot skiff. Also requesting some naval protection for the defence of this channel.
Folio 399: enclosure with folios 395-396. Letter dated August 1813 by [A?] Stephens, Custom House St Ives, to James Slade, Falmouth. Regarding the force and activities of the American Brig Argus reported by John Forbes of Whitby's Richard Edmund Brig from Gibraltar who had been captured and Francis Wearne, master of the Brig Ann. 5 vessels had been burnt after putting the crew on board including 1 from Gibraltar off Scilly and 2 Dartmouth vessels. Masters Macdonald and Rowe mentioned as well as provisions from Limerick and from Ireland to Liverpool. A Bristol Schooner from Antigua, whose cargo was also destroyed, has arrived at Padstow.
