Description

Folios 340-341: Peter Spicer, Swansea. Regarding John Brown on board HM Brig Conquest. Lieutenant Boswell also mentioned.

Folios 342 -343: enclosure with folios 340-341. Letter dated 7 Aug 1813 by [Walter?] Boswell, Lieutenant and Commander of HM Gun Brig Conquest, to Peter Spicer at Swansea. Regarding John Brown and further correspondence.

Folios 344-345: enclosure with folios 340-341. Benjamin Hawkins, Brig Foust, Swansea, 1 Aug 1813, to the Admiralty. Regarding John Brown who is currently onboard HM Brig Conquest and deserted from his boat. Requesting he be put onboard any HM ship at Plymouth or elsewhere. Lieutenant Boswell also mentioned.

Folio 346: enclosure with folios 340-341. John Brown of Penbrary in Carmarthenshire's Indenture Certificate. Mention of father David Brown, schoolmaster and Benjamin Hawkins of Swansea in Glamorgan.

Folios 347-348: enclosure with folios 340-341. John Brown's Protection Order containing his description and date of birth.
