Folios 128-129: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. Regarding the instructions in Mr Barrow's letter not to ask officers to travel to Town with dispatches if there was a quicker way for them to arrive by post or unless the message was of such importance as to make it necessary. I made this known to Captain Carden who arrived from Bermuda and went off express for London.
