Description

Captured ship: Le Subtile of Brest (commander Richard Walsh, an Irishman).

History: a French [Jacobite] privateer (frigate, 60 tons, 10 guns, 65 men), bound on a cruise from Brest to the coast of Ireland; taken in fight on 6/16 November 1695 off Limerick by the privateer King William Galley(Nehemiah Winter commanding), and brought into Limerick.
