Captured ship: Subtile of London (master William Browne).
History: an Engish ship (40 tons), bound from Kinsale to Bilbao, laden with Newfoundland fish; first taken on 12/22 March 1695/6 by the French privateer Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle (Thomas Formby, an Englishman, commanding) and then retaken on 13/23 March 1695/6 by HMS Dover (William Cross commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
