Description

Captured ship: Star or Estoile of Dieppe (master Charles Langlois).

History: a French merchant ship (25 tons, 2 guns, men) bound from La Rochelle to Calais, laden with brandy; taken on 18/28 May 1696 off St Briac by the privateer Defiance(John Gruchy commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
