Captured ship: Speedwell (master John Keating).
History: an English merchant ship (hoy) bound from Middelburg to Bristol, laden with iron pots, madder, blacking, and deal boards; first taken on 17/27 July 1692 between Milford Haven and Waterford by the Irish Jacobite privateer Providence (Patrick Lambert commanding) and then retaken on 21/31 July 1692 off Lands End by Henry Jones, Vice Admiral of North Cornwall, using two fishing boats manned by his bother and eighteen men, and brought into Penzance.

- [CP 1-CP 3]: interrogatories, two examinations;
- [CP 4]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of English merchants;
- [CP 5-CP 6]: inventory, commission of appraisement;
- [CP 7-CP 9]: three certificates stating irregularities and charges incurred in the appriasement of the ship at Penzance, with a letter from Abraham Lawton on the same subject.
[Decision: ship and cargo restored, paying salvage 8 September 1692].
