Folios 473-474: George Stuart, HMS Horatio, Yarmouth Roads. Encloses two writs issued against him for impressing, George Gage and Thomas Green, both apprentices, and states the circumstances of their case, explaining that, at the time of their impressment, he was not able to examine their Indentures and was subjected to threatening and abusive language he believes designed to intimidate him into releasing the men. Having studied the indentures and found them to be correct, he has sent the men back and requests the Admiralty to send directions to their solicitors to [defend?] the case as he has acted in good faith and believes the writs to be motivated by personal animosity.
Folio 475: enclosure with folios 473-474. Writ issued by Law & Markham at Westminster, 17 June 1812 to the Sheriff of Norfolk to take Lord George Stuart and John Doe, if they are found in the Bailiwick, so that they can appear at Westminster to answer James Lovewell in a plea of trespass.
