Folios 152-153: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Officer, Gravesend. States the case of Samuel Robinson, aged 26, currently on HMS Porcupine, who was impressed on 20 July 1811 by Lieutenant Jordan out of the Hamilton and was rated as an Ordinary Seaman having five years seafaring experience but, in a report dated 29 March from Captain Austen, was advanced to Able Seaman on arrival at the Nore.
Folios 154-155: enclosure with folios 152-153. Letter dated 18 June 1812 by Thomas Robinson, Kirkdale near Liverpool, to the Admiralty. Writes to request the discharge of his son Samuel Robinson who was impressed at Gravesend and is now on board HMS Porcupine. Explains that he as his wife are elderly and need his assistance and that his son has written on 5 June 1812 from Spithead expressing a desire to be discharged. Asks what they need to do to obtain his release.
