Folios 150-151: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. Acknowledges receipt of a dispatch which is to be forwarded by HMS Herring, and the direction to return the dispatch in case Orders are received from Rear Admiral Sir Edward Buller of HMS Herring of sailing. Explains that he received such an order at 4pm, and the dispatch at 6.30 pm and that HMS Herring has been detained and has been successfully smoked and is ready for sea. The dispatch is returned.
