Description

Folios 136-137: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Officer, Gravesend. Acknowledges receipt of application on behalf of Mrs Fletcher for her son's discharge. Reports that the name Fletcher does not appear on the Rendezvous books but he understands that John McIver is her son in law. Description of John McIver impressed by Lieutenant Robert Jordan from the Dorset off Gravesend, and now on board HMS Corso. HMS Namur mentioned.

Folios 138-139: enclosure with folios 136-137:. Letter dated 16 June 1812 by William Geeson, Charles Street, Westminster, to the Admiralty. Requesting, on behalf of Mrs Fletcher, the discharge of Mr Fletcher, her son, who was impressed from the Dorset and is now on HMS Corso, Gravesend. Mrs Fletcher has four daughters and is under great distress from the impressment of her only son. Captain Heard of the Dorset mentioned.
