Folios 47-48: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Officer Gravesend. States the cases of two men: John Boswell and Caesar Pike. Outlines his reasons why John Boswell, aged 18, impressed on 23 May by Lieutenant Petley out of the Price Regent from Jamaica inward bound off Gravesend and claiming to be an American citizen and Caesar Pike, aged 23, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, impressed on 20 May 1812 by Lieutenant Jordan out of the Carnatic, an East Indiaman inward bound off Gravesend, should not be released.
