Folios 24-25: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. States the case of Jonathan Mayn, a fisherman and encloses a copy of his report of 2 May 1811 on Jonathan Mayn and two others who were impressed at the same time and under similar circumstances. Mentions the oyster banks in Falmouth Harbour providing work for nearly 100 men, none of whom are subject to the Impress Warrant due to age or other reasons, and therefore assumes that Mr Mayn's small oyster business in Gweek River will be able to carry on and find labour.
Folios 26-27: enclosure with folios 24-25. Letter dated 2 May 1812 by James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth, to the Admiralty. States the case of Benjamin Wynn, William Roberts, Jonathan Mayn and John Uden who were impressed by Lieutenant Robert Carter on 22 April out of boats dredging for oysters in Helford River. John Uden has been discharged as elderly but the others have been detained. Clarifies that Jonathan Mayn is the son, not the nephew of Jonathan Mayn, as stated in Lord de Dunstanville's letter. Describes the Mayn's Oyster business and disputes the claim that the business will be ruined if Jonathan Mayn is not discharged.
Folios 28-29: enclosure with folios 24-25. Letter dated 16 May 1812 by Sir William Lemon, Member of Parliament for Cornwall, Whitehall. Making an application for the discharge of Jonathan Mayn, recently impressed and enclosing a Petition on Mayn's behalf.
Folios 30-31: enclosure with folios 24-25. Letter dated 15 May 1812 by Jonathan Mayn of Calmansack near Helford, Cornwall to the Admiralty. Petition for his discharge, claiming that he is a Landsman, has never been to sea and that his father's Oyster business will be ruined if he is not released. Asks for the reply to be sent to his kinsman, James Mayn, 21 Middle Row, Holborn
