Folios 8-9: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Officer, Gravesend. Responding to the request to state the case of John Webster, a Sawyer and an employee of John Stoker of Northfleet until 19 March 1811. Having personally communicated with John Stoker, he has no reason to doubt the correctness of the enclosed statements.
Folios 10-11: enclosure with folios 8-9. Letter dated 27 May 1812 by Elizabeth Webster, Northfleet, to John Barrow at the Admiralty. Encloses a certificate of indenture for her son in response to a letter that her son cannot be released as they have no proof of him not having been to sea for two years.
Folio 12: enclosure with folios 10-11:. Letter dated 27 May 1812 by Henry James Pitcher, Gravesend. Affidavit, sworn before Jeremiah Dennett, Mayor, that John Webster worked at Messrs Pitcher's Ship Yard, Northfleet until 19 March 1811, and then went to the East Indies on board the Lowther Castle returning on 19 May 1812 when he was pressed and that his Indenture as an Apprentice Sawyer expired on 1 January 1811.
