Folios 533-534: Benjamin Street, Liverpool. He writes to comment on the wasteful way that trees are being felled for use of the Navy at the Cape of Good Hope. He suggests furthermore that plantings of young trees be undertaken to replace those cut down. He reports that in his experience the local woods are as durable as English oak and therefore should be able to supply the Navy for the foreseeable future if the woodlands are cared for properly.
