Folios 529-530: Clement Sneyd, HMS Myrtle, The Tagus. He is asked to report on Mr Hood who had been Purser on board his ship. Mr Hood was appointed prize agent in Sierra Leone. Hood has claimed that Captain Sneyd had tried to make a private profit from the prize items captured and further that some were missing. Captain Sneyd gives an account of his recollection of events surrounding these charges. Instead he claims that Mr Hood is the person guilty of fraud as was demonstrated by an inspection he conducted of bills of sale which showed several valuable items had been ommitted. He told Mr Hood either to leave the ship on arrival in England or face a Court Martial and Mr Hood chose to resign.
Folios 531-532: enclosure with folios 531-532. An order to inspect the accounts of Thomas Hood.
