Folios 290-291: James Keith Shepard, Gravesend. He reports that having receive a letter from Mr Cumberledge he had sent an officer to his ship, HMS Lord Duncan and in return he had received a man named John O'Donnell who produced a Protection from the impress. This he sends to the Admiralty and asks for their orders as to whether he should be detained. Furthermore there is some dispute about the man's behaviour. He denies being insolent.
Folios 292-293: enclosure with folios 290-291. Letter dated 18 April 1812 by J Cumberledge, Purser. He writes to Captain Shephard to say there are several men aboard who apper fit to be impressed whom he will transfer but he will retain one man.
