Folios 249-250: James Keith Shephard, Gravesend. He writes in connection with two men Dennis Leary and Daniel Hargarty who have been impressed from an outward bound East Indiaman The Marquess of Ely.
Folio 251: enclosure with folios 249-250. pplications for the Discharge of Impressed Men dated 1812 Apr 10 naming Dennis Leary and referring to two affidavits.
Folio 252: enclosure with folios 249-250. Certificate issued from The Public Office, High Street, Shadwell and sworn before Rober Raynesford JP, dated 1812 Apr 7 signed by John MCarthy. The effect being that MCarthy knew Dennis Leary never to have been to sea or been a waterman.
Folio 253: enclosure with folios 249-250. Certificate issued from The Public Office, High Street, Shadwell and sworn before Rober Raynesford JP, dated 1812 Apr 7 signed by Daniel Hargaty (his mark). The effect being that MCarthy knew Dennis Leary never had been to sea or been a waterman.
Folio 254-255: enclosure with folios 249-250. Major CH Turner, Major St Annes, Battlion of Infantry, Limehouse. Undated. He writes that a member of his Battalion has been impressed. He asks the Admiralty to order his release.
