Folios 227-227A: Andrew Smith, Regulating Officer, Greenock. Reply to letter dated 27 January 1812. Joseph Rhodes and William Feenton, said to be Americans. Neither has no american accent, or have provided satisfactory [documents] that they are such. Joseph Rhodes he is convinced is an Irishman and William Feenton is a deserter from the Navy. The Protection from the American Consul is for John Hughes and as for the discharge from HMS Queen there are many different hand writings.

Folio 229: enclosure with folios 227-227A. Citizenship Certificate of New York, USA for Joseph Rhodes dated 9 September 1807.
Folio 230: enclosure with folios 227-227A. Certificate of Service Joseph Rhodes, Able Seaman on HMS Queen from 20 September 1811 to 26 October 1811 at which time he was discharged per Admiralty Order.
