Folios 201-202: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. Reply to letter received 23 January 1812 about John Jose. He was on the 2 November 1811 apprehended at Falmouth by Lieutenant Carter on information of being a deserted from HMS Christian the &th as a Marine. He admitted being a deserted, having swam from the ship in Cawson Bay but as a Foremast Man not a Marine. Information that he is a deserted from the Marine's and has deserted more than once.
Folios 203-204: enclosure with folios 201-202. Undated petition from the Ministers, Churchwardens, Overseers and Principal Inhabitants of the Parishes of [Landowednark?] and Mullion in the County of Cornwall about John Jose signed by 30 people.
