Folios 169-170: James Slade, HMS Experiment, Falmouth. Reply to letter dated 21 January 1812 about Edward Cuttliffe said to be an apprentice. He was Impressed by Lieutenant Carter on the 9 January 1812 out of the Brig Forest of Swansea having no documents to prove he was exempted. Because of the time taken before the enclosed documents were presented he did not feel justified in discharging.
Folios 171-172: enclosure with folios 169-170. Petition dated 17 January 1812 by Benjamin Hawkins, Master of the Brig Forest of Swansea about Edward Cutliffe and the reason for the delay in getting his paperwork to Captain James Slade.
