Folios 106-107: George Stuart, HMS Horatio, Heligoland Harbour. Sending a duplicate of his letter to Admiral Young, dated 3 October, giving the state, condition and disposition of the detachment under his command.
Folios 108-109: enclosure with folios 106-107. Duplicate letter from Stuart to the Admiral. As he has to send a vessel with a convoy to Yarmouth he sends a statement of their situation, which he says should have been done on 28 September but that he had waited for the convoy to leave, they being detained by strong gales. Reports that the Pincher, Blazer, Augusta and Alert have arrived, but have not been stationed due to the weather. The gale has also blown the Raven and the Thrasher from their stations. Reports various movements of the French in the islands, and that at the port of Hamburg where troops are massing, they have fitted out a ship of 32 guns and two brigs, and gunboats too numerous to attack.The trade is still poor he says and the merchants are making another application for a convoy to Gottenburg.
