Folios 102-103: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Captain, Gravesend. Asked to state the case of Charles Augustus Nibbs, now on board the El Corso. Impressed on 27 September, by Lt Petley, from the Eliza, inward bound off Gravesend. Said he had been sent from London to assist her navigation. He is 5'2 1/2", appears about 18 years old, says he has been at sea only a few months and is apprentice to Rowland Morton, but could not produce his indentures. Admiralty note on rear says discharge to be granted.
Folio 104: enclosure with folios 102-103. Statement from Rowland Morton, dated 20 September 1811, master of the Cato, and employed in the West India trade, and gives his oath that Nibbs is his apprentice by indentures dated 24 June 1811 for three years.
Folio 105: enclosure with folios 102-103. Application form to dismiss an impressed man, dated 8 October 1811, for Charles Augustus Nibbs.
