Folios 69-70: James Keith Shepard, Gravesend. Asked to state the case of John [sic, but should be Robert] Heppenstall, he says the man was impressed on 28 September by Lt Petley, from the ship Orpheus inward bound off Gravesend. He is 5' 51/2" and an ordinary seaman, who has been at sea for 3 years and 3 days, according to his indentures and about 18 years old, 'stout in proportion to his height'. He has been sent to the Nore. Note on rear says to discharge if age is as represented by his father.
Folios 71-72: enclosure with folios 69-70. Letter dated 6 October 1811 from John Heppenstall, about his son Robert, who has been impressed a week ago from the Orpheus West Indiaman. He says the boy is not yet 17 years of age and asks for his release. Encloses a copy of the parish register proving Robert's age, as he was baptized at the age of 29 days, on 4 January 1795.
