Description

Captured ship: Madam Hedwig of Stockholm (Magnus Grabergh or Magnus Groborg Master).

History: a Swedish merchant ship (170 tons) bound from Bordeaux to Stockholm, laden with wine, brandy, paper, prunes, sugar andmolasses; taken on 11/21 July 1697 off Ushant by HMS St Paul (John Mitchell commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Documents: manuscript appeal papers.
