Registry Number: CCG 180/21536. <p>Pictures and Postage stamps.</p> <p>Correspondence between the German Restitution Office of the Northern-Rhine Finance Ministry and the headquarters of the Reparations, Deliveries and Restitutions [RDR] Division requesting information on restitution claim no 8016, filed by the Dutch government in October 1946 for postage stamps recorded as 'miscellaneous of no importance', already claimed in restitution claim no 8192B, and ten pictures, only four of which were described in detail: one Dutch painting portraying a beached fishing boat, signed J W, bought in Holland by the current owner 'with money, which his mother had invested there', and transported to Duesseldorf; one painting by J H B Koekkoek, destroyed by bombardment, which had been bought by Jos Peiffer in Holland through the firm Lindemann of Duesseldorf; and two pictures on wood by Barthel Bruyn [the Elder] with two portraits, one of a lady and one of a gentleman, size 15 x 45, bought in 1943 in The Hague. <p>This piece includes investigation forms and notes between the RDR and the MFA and A regarding the claimed objects, dated March-August 1947, authority for release forms for the ten pictures and postage stamps, dated October 1947, and receipts of delivery of the two Barthel Bruyn paintings to an accredited representative of the Dutch government, dated June 1948.</p>
