Description

Folios 57-60. Letter from 1st Earl Harcourt to the Right Honourable Lord Viscount Weymouth enclosing a list of proposed successions in the army in Ireland. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosed: Folios 59-60: List of Successions in the Army in Ireland humbly recommended to His Majesty, including: 2nd Horse - Captain Lieutenant Robert Corbett to retire at the regulated price, with Lieutenant John Dillon to be Captain Lieutenant, Cornet Alexander Carroll to be Lieutenant, and Mr Henry Langley to be Cornet; 5th Dragoons - Cornet William Brownlow being removed to the 2nd Horse, with Ensign William Savary of 32nd Foot to be Cornet; 11th Foot - Lieutenant and Adjutant John Jones to resign his adjutancy, with Sergeant Major James Macky to be Adjutant; 30th Foot - Ensign Richard Thomas being dead, Mr Joseph Sharman to be Ensign; 32nd Foot - Ensign William Savary being recommended for a Cornetcy in the 5th Dragoons, Mr Langrishe to be Ensign.
