NOTES: surnames of patentees arranged alphabetically (each year separately); volume contains for 1826 only surnames `Witty' to `Z'; for remainder of 1826 (`A' to `Wood') see C 275/209; the pencil numbers against some of the entries refer to the printed index by Bennet Woodcroft (see introductory note); under the date in the penultimate column is a reference to the number of the roll on which the enrolment will be found, and these have to be keyed up with the class list for C 54; C 275/210 was compiled c 1853
