Description

Folios 37-38. Letter dated at St James's from Lord Rochford to Lord Harcourt. The commissions for Lieutenants Sheppard and Taylor have been cancelled and another signed appointing Lieutenant John Sheppard to be Captain Lieutenant in the 28th. Rochford acknowledges receipt of Harcourt's letters of 26 and 28 September regarding army successions in connection with which the 2nd Regiment of Horse, Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Pope and Ensign Boyd Porterfield are mentioned.
