Description

Folios 21-22. Letter dated at Dublin Castle from Lieutenant-General J [John] Irwine [Irwin] [Commander-in-Chief] to Lord Rochford that the express letter changing the destination of the 17th and 55th Foot did not arrive at Cork until their transports had sailed but different expresses were sent after them the next day and one sent across country to the Revenue Officer at Baltimore [County Cok] with orders to send out their row boats should the transports be off Cape Clear. The 27th's departure 'was detained by such omissions and neglects as shall go officially before His Majesty' but will now sail for Halifax 'the first fair wind'.
