Folios 310-311: Peter Spicer, Swansea. States the case of Edmund Gairy, impressed by Lieutenant William Nolter. Gives a brief description of the circumstances. He has detained Gairy as he believes his Indenture to be illegal and because Gairy had been to sea before his Indenture began. Denies using improper language.
Folio 312: enclosure with folios 310-311. Covering letter for enclosure at folios 313-314.
Folios 313-314: enclosure with folios 310-311. Letter dated 8 September 1810 by William Jenkins, Quay, Swansea, to the Admiralty. Request to release Edmund Gairy, who joined his vessel as an apprentice at Bridesmouth in Youghal River on 4 March 1810. Outlines the circumstances surrounding Gairy's impressment and the validity of the Indenture and denies that Gairy had been to sea before other than crossing the sea from Ireland to seek an apprenticeship like many other boys from Ireland and without whom the ships of the Coasting Trade cannot sail. Claims that Peter Spicer swore.
