Folios 229-230: Matthew Smith, HMS Comus in the Tagus. Arrived in the Tagus on 30 July 1810 with the Portuguese Envoy and the British Secretary of Legation and their suite on board. Asks for an increase in the usual remuneration for the expenses incurred.
Folios 231-232: enclosure with folios 229-230. Orders dated 14 May 1810 by George Cranfield Berkeley, Vice Admiral of the Red, HMS Barfleur in the Tagus, to Matthew Smith of HMS Comus. Order to convey to Algiers, Mr Casamajor, Secretary of Legation, and the Envoy of Portugal to the Regency of Algiers together with their suites and baggage and bring them back to the Tagus if necessary.
