Description

Folios 198-199: Lord George Stuart, HMS Aimable, River Elbe. Encloses cases of John Johnson, John Hay and Peter Whitty who were impressed by the boats of HMS Aimable.

Folios 200-201: enclosure with folios 198-199. Letter dated 18 July 1810 by Walter Rankin and James [Sarlland?], Ship Owners Kincardine, to the Admiralty. Petition to release John Johnstone, Mate on the ship Maria of Kincardine, John McClaren Master, and John Hay, Mate on the Isabella, George Scotland Master, who were impressed at Heligoland on board HMS Aimable.

Folios 202-203: enclosure with folios 198-199. Letter dated 19 July 1810 by Thomas Ward, owner of the brig Three Friends of Bridlington, Bridlington Quay, to the Admiralty. Petition to release Peter Whitty, Chief Mate of the brig Three Friends who was impressed at Heligoland and is now detained on HMS Aimable. Gives a brief description of the circumstances of Peter Whitty's impressment when the ship was grounded on Sandy Island.

Folio 204: enclosure with folios 198-199. Statement dated 15 August 1810 by Lord George Stuart, HMS Aimable. Statement of the cases of three men now serving on HMS Aimable: John Johnson, Able Seaman out of the Maria of Kincardine, impressed Heligoland Harbour 25 May 1810; John Hay, Able Seaman, out of the Isabella of Kincardine, impressed in Heligoland Harbour on 25 May 1810; and Peter Whitty of Three Friends of Bridlington, David Whitty Master, impressed on shore at Sandy Island on 30 May 1810
