Details of accident: After taking a ticket for Stockton by the train due there at 9:50 PM, he appears to have gone to an adjoining public house where he remained until the train arrived at the Station, when he ran to join it, & passed behind the van at the rear. In the darkness and probably being confused at the time, he seems to have mistaken the parapet of the bridge for the platform and leaped over it, falling about 50 feet on to the road below.
