Details of accident: A pony and cart belonging to a woman named Bartley (A Forename or Mrs. or Miss. has not been recorded) came on to the line at the Crossing at the Station in front of an approaching Goods Train. W. Griffin, who was in charge of the Station, ran to lead the pony off the line, but before he could do so, the train came up and one of the wagons, which was rather wider than the rest, struck the cart and threw W. Griffin and the pony and cart into a ditch at the side of the line. The pony and cart were not much injured.
