Description

Folios 106-109. Letter from 1st Earl Harcourt [Lord Lieutenant of Ireland] to the Right Honourable Lord Viscount Weymouth recommending that the King may dispense (in favour of Reverend James Drought, Reverend John Kearney, and Reverend Gerald Fitzgerald) with the seventh Chapter of the Statutes of the College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity near Dublin which stipulates that 'if it should appear that any of the Fellows or Scholars has taken a Wife or contracted Matrimony with any Woman he should be deprived of all Right of the Society'. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosed: Folios 108-109: precedent form of letter for the King to sign, granting a like dispensation in favour of Doctor Clement, Reverend Doctor Leland and Reverend Doctor Dabzac. Dated at the Signet Office and signed by John Haynes, 6 September 1775.
