Description

Folios 100-103. Letter from 1st Earl Harcourt [Lord Lieutenant of Ireland] to the Right Honourable Lord Viscount Weymouth conveying the third 'Transmiss of the Session, consisting of four Public Bills' upon which Harcourt provides particulars and observations. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosed: Folios 102-103: A List of Bills Sealed in Council 13 December 1775: (1) 'An Act for Regulating the Tryals of Peers and Peeresses in Cases of Capital Offences'; (2) 'An Act for the Improvement of the Fisheries of this Kingdom'; (3) 'An Act for repealing an Act made in the 14th and 15th Years of the Reign of His present Majesty Intitled an Act to Explain and Amend an Act made in the third Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Second, Intitled an Act for the better keeping of Churches in Repair and for other Purposes'; (4) 'An Act to Explain and Amend an Act made in the 11 and 12 years of the Reign of His present Majesty entitled an Act to enable the Speaker of the House of Commons to Issue his Warrants to make out new Writts for the Choice of Members to serve in Parliament in the room of such Members as shall Die during the Recess of Parliament, and for enabling the Speaker of the House of Commons to make out new Writts for the Choice of Members to serve in Parliament in the room of such Members as shall during the Recess of Parliament become Peers and be summoned to Parliament'.
