Folios 343-344: John Sykes, HMS Hecla, Dungeness. States Mr Thomas Galler late Purser of HMS Hecla having absented himself last September 1803 in Portsmouth and the ship sailing shortly afterwards he was Run on the Books of HMS Hecla. As he now finds that his absence was because he was arrested for debt and had no intention of deserting. He request directions for the R to be removed.
